Here is a list of my striper rigs. My striper rigs are made with Gamakatsu hooks, sizes 3/0, 5/0 and 6/0. Leader line is available in 50 lb. or 60 lb. test. Excellent choice for using as a Sliding Bottom Finder. Suggested bait is live eels with a very slow retrieve. Consist of 18" leader, 1 150lb.test barrel swivel and 1 Gamakatsu circle hook. 60# test suggested when Blues are in the area.

This high-low rig, in my opinion, is the most productive striper rig around. Excellent when used with sand eels. Doubles the scent and presentation for the stripers.
Rig length is 28-30 inches long and consists of two drop loops w/hooks, 1 snap swivel, 2 barrel swivels, 1 snap. Weight not included. 60# test suggested when Blues are running.

This rig is primarily used when you need to keep your bait as close to the bottom as possible, especially when fishing early season stripers in the canal. Rig consists of a 18” leader, circle hook, 1 3-way swivel, and 1 snap. Weight not included. Can be used with dead or live bait as well as chunk bait. Suggest 60# when Blues are running.

This carousel rig allows the bait to move with the current direction without any restriction. Very good with dead or chunk bait. Good dispenser of scent. The Herring Rig was constructed to keep the bait paralell to the ocean floor as current goes out while keeping the herring on the hooks for those monster casts. How to bait hook: Place inner hook through the head of the herring (from top to bottom), run the fishing line down the back of the herring and insert outer hook (from top to bottom). Herring should be facing the line with belly facing down. Rig is 27" long and consists of 3 barrel swivels, 3 crimps, 2 beads, 1 snap and 2 circle hooks.

The Slow Retrieve Rig was constructed to keep the bait just ahead of the sinker. While executing a slow retrieve action the eel appears to be knocking up sand from the ocean floor. Our picture shows how we used a sand eel while researching the effectivness. Yes, I did catch a fish and beat my son for bragging rights! Rig is 18" long and consists of one150lb.test barrel swivel and 1 Gamakatsu octopus hook. 60# test suggested when Blues are in the area.

The Chunk-Bait Rig is constructed to keep the bait off the bottom of the ocean floor. This is a great rig for those calm days when the crabs keep eating your bait. Throw this rig on and the crabs will have to find lunch somewhere else.
Rig is 21" long and consists of 5 round corks, 1 3-way swivel, 1 crimp, 1 bead, 1 snap and 1 octopus hook.
