I choose colors based on the bait fish from the Atlantic Ocean. If you do not find a color on the list and desire a color not listed, feel free to email me at ron@3jsstriperrigs.com with specifications or send a picture for a custom build. Tracer
Weight 3 - 3.5 oz
My Tracer is a surface swimming lure. There is no one way to fish this lure. When fishing for stripers it is recommended to use a slow retrieve while twitching the end of your rod. If a strike occurs stop retrieving for 7 seconds, twitch the rod once and wait again. Keep using this format until the striper hits again. If conditions present rough water, retrieve faster on the front side of the surf and let the back side work the inherent action of the plug. If blues are your fish of choice, a rapid retrieve is recommended, while twitching the end of your rod. The Tracer is a great all around plug. It's productive as long as fish are in the area.
Best when used at night in light to moderate surf conditions.
